SEARCH ENGINE outfit Google has done an HP and bought the garage where the company started.

According to Associated Press, punters are making a pilgrimage to what is fast becoming a tourist attraction (no really) apparently the busloads of people that show up to take pictures of the house and garage have become an annoyance.

Co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin rented a garage from Susan Wojcicki who needed the $1,700 per month rent to pay the mortgage on her 900-square-foot home in Menlo Park. Page and Brin got the place because one of Wojcicki's friends went out with Brin.

Google stayed there for five months and Page and Brin had a habit of raiding Wojcicki's fridge. Apparently the reason they left was Google took off rather that she was miffed at the theft of her frozen pizzas.

It is unlikely that Wojcicki is too worried about the mortgage on her current residence. She is now Google's vice president of product management and we expect is not short of a bob or two and can also stump up for the odd frozen pizza.
