All you are doing is competing with your customers - Eckhard Pfeiffer, to Intel
I would very much like these reviewers to wake up and use some objectivity : double the price should equate to a better performance ratio than 36%. SLI will be a meaningful option when you get AT LEAST 50% better scores IN EVERY POSSIBLE CASE. I mean hey, SLI gets a 6% difference in Half-Life 2. SIX PER CENT. This is supposed to be the jaw dropper of technology? Give me a break. I'm all for high-tech, and SLI is a notion that should have been a geek's wet dream. But it isn't, right now it's just a lame donkey that's twice as expensive as a normal one. I hope SLI will become what it should be : 50% to 80% percent better framerates. That would justify the price. But we're not yet there and until we are, only idiots qualify. I give back my medal, I'm not stupid enough.
Yours, Pascal

RE: Restart Turion Logo Project
First the good. If the "Go64" is an AMD initiative, this could be a well positioned platform brand: "Go64 = AMD64 + Mobile Platform Enhancements".
Now the bad, bad, bad. Instead of building on the success and market adoption of the current Opteron and Athlon 64 logos, this Turion logo is the most amateur, third rate, cluttered, confusing (is it a technology or a processor?), bastardized and ripped off version of the the butterfly-thing from MSN and Centrino logos!
Remember with the original Opteron and Athlon 64 logos came out of AMD's internal art department? Ugh, they were bad. Then an outside firm designed the current AMD64 Opteron and AMD64 Athlon badges and saved AMD? Time to go back to this same playbook.
Please run an Inquirer's Alternative Turion Logo Contest. Here is my suggestion for a submission, realizing that it needs to be a bit different as a "Mobile Technology" rather than a mere processor (similar to Intel's approach). Please post to have someone take a stab at it:
1. Start with the current Opteron badge/logo.
2. Replace "Opteron" with "Turion" and change the backgrond color to something shocking, like flourescent
purple.
3. Add "Mobile Technology" in text below the badge/logo in black text.
4. Replace the centerpiece "64" with "Go64", apparently a new AMD adopted catch phrase. Everyone will understand
that this is an AMD64 processor with mobility enhancements.
5. Add a vibration or shaking effort to "Go64" to imply movement, mobility, etc. See Microsoft Word text effect
"Shimmer" under Fonts.
6. Change the colors of the centerpiece "Go64" text to something else extreme to set it apart. Flourescent
yellow comes to mind. A real artist can pick the colors, but you get the idea. Similar to Centrino logo with PINK
(women buyers), it needs to stand out.
Please post this and see if an artist could turn this into artwork!

Dear Editor,
This is to alert you to what is taking place within the Mozilla community. The "Mozilla Foundation", the folks who took over Mozilla and subsequently developed it's ugly stepson, Firefox, have essentially cast the "Mozilla Suite" over the side. This has the effect of tossing aside the estimated 40 million Mozilla Suite users worldwide. As you are surely aware, the Suite is the heir to the Netscape legacy, upon which millions of the original internet pioneers cut their teeth. Despite desperate appeals from many of us, the Suite users who stuck with Mozilla during its rough patches, all of our appeals have meant nothing to these egotistical and self-centered bastards. Needless to say, our sense of betrayal is profound. I am asking you to make your readers aware of the treachery taking place.
I will provide you with some links.
Newsgroup, where much info can be found. netscape.public.mozilla.seamonkey
Official announcement..final nail in the coffin, if you will. The claim that they had always planned for this, and that everybody knew, is complete bull. There was never any hint that they would abandon the Suite. Here.
This next one is a link to where a group of folks plan to try to take up development of the suite. If you wanna help, here's where. Note...programmers etc. are needed and all are welcome. here.
"Mozilla's" semi official forum, where even the name 'Mozilla' has now been stripped from the suite, having been replaced by the once internal name for Mozilla Suite test builds. Here.
We urge you to make your readers aware of what is happening. Thank you for your time.

Hi,
just see this (German) story.
Before the opening of the Cebit there was this rather large Turion logo in viewing distance (actually very close) to the Intel booth. Just an hour later it has been removed. Where is it? Who was it? Who doesn't like large limousines? ;)
Regards
