US nuke lab flunks security 101
THE LOS ALAMOS National Lab (LANL) has reportedly failed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information on its unclassified network.
The government network apparently contains gigabytes of sensitive information, including unclassified (controlled) nuclear data, export control reports and laboratory employee profiles.
In addition, the DOE's (Department of Energy) Office of Independent Oversight held a mock terrorist attack on a sensitive LANL laboratory facility. The agency concluded that Livermore's security program was suffering from several critical flaws, such as the inadequate protection of classified resources and poorly-trained security forces.
LANL has also failed to implement security recommendations regarding the inappropriate storage of classified nuclear weapons components in unapproved containers. µ

Los Alamos and Livermore are two different labs. Los Alamos in New Mexico, and Livermore in California.

Those Network World people need to check their facts.
Now that every pot bellied, dog eating dictator has a nuclear program, this hardly matters any more.
