$165 buys you Denmark

Dual-core Opteron at 1.8GHz

A LOYAL reader pointed us up on a different sale.

AMD's FX55 may be selling like a hot cake, but if you need a server CPU that can be reliably overclocked from 1.8GHz to 2.8GHz, Denmark is the one for you.

Cool'n'Quiet can also tick this CPU over at at less than 1GHz, from 2.8GHz, if it doesn't need the power.

And best of all an AMD Opteron 165 Denmark 1.8GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core Processor - Retail including a vague cooler costs $165.

These are some numbers one chap managed to do with it: "Pros: CCBBE 0610 on A8N-SLI Deluxe = 2.81GHz at 1.4Volts 32Deg Idle CCBBE 0617 on A8n-SLI Premium = 2.8GHz at 1.4Volts 33Deg Idle CCBWE on A8N-SLI Deluxe = 2.7 at 1.55Volts 38Deg Idle".

Looks like a great deal. And if you want to overclock, a Core 2 Duo 6300 is a nice deal as well as it costs around $183 only. We will tell you more about Intel stuff in another piece.

You can buy Denmark here. With the right mod you be able to cook Danish sausages with it. ยต
