Quake III Arena source code released

Now it's all down to the rocking modders
Sun Aug 21 2005, 14:40
AS PROMISED at QuakeCon, id has released the source code for Quake III Arena. We said it would, here. The 5.5MB download when combined with the existing software development kit for the engine will grant modders the exact same tools and abilities which professional designers had when making games from Medal of Honor: Allied Assault to Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

As well as the source code there is also a special patch that makes it easier for Mac users to use the engine.

So the ftp thingie is here, for the Quake III Arena Source Code and here for the reassuringly Mac patch.
