PROMETHEA You have to take the leap of faith and click on to see this stuff. But don't worry, looking is not the same as total immersion...

Poll Roundup
Pick the location for your next pimple Of course we all know Ikea is the only location for anything. Pretty sure this poll was created so someone could keep getting mentions.

As far as I know, none of these folk work for Ikea, more's the pity, but one is rather fishy.

Weekly Folly
Windows network Q Not a whole lot of anything of interest. 33 posts of boring Network geek type stuff. Then into a fair bit of insulting behavior. Not a single mention of the world's favorite furniture store.

Word Association 1339 posts as of 10:21 EST time. Thank Jeff you people (most of you) have jobs. Else this would spiral away into even more insanity.

I'm a fairy! Thanks Tame, more than we needed to know. Anyways, related to the Hobbit thread of last week, a site to look up your fairy. Lot's of us posting the results, then BTD got into a little Gaelic mythology and such. Which kept us busy for a day or so. Then around post 18 we got into the good stuff, a nice soothing visit to Ikea by the Flashman. A little ribbing of the ladies when GHC and SGF let their guard down. In post 37 Frnht brought up his student loan issues, which launched a few on to the bureaucracy of student loan payment . Then back onto Ikea, or for GHC a kind of Gothic Ikea. So what would be the Gothic version of dime bar cake? Hermie made a few valiant attempts to change the subject, all to no avail. Actually one of his topics might be a good candidate for a Gothic dime bar cake.

I'm a Geek! Busy thread. 96 posts in 2 days. Is anyone really surprised? About the only thing of any interest is the Spiderman vs. Wolverine discussion. Thanks to Jeff we got some good car talk going, not quite Ikea, but better than geek talk.

Mastermind - normal service resumed Well apparently the Spindoctor got his a***biscuits kicked in the second round. This led us into a long row of super geek talk, centered on the losing questions, Perl scripting, and the Apple logo.

Are we not a sad lot for going on about that kind of stuff for a day? And even sadder that so many of us knew the answer. At least I sent a message to "Ask a geek". Then in post 56 Cupid brought up employment application forms. Then we got on yet another tangent when Uri mentioned AS400 systems.

Well it wasn't entirely a slow week, just mostly unconnected blather. Lots of geek talk, and the intellectual black hole of word association. Mrs. Welsh Bloke and Hermie had a rather lengthy discussion on extraterrestrial life. Well, where they come from is extraterrestrial, they actually live at Hoodview at the moment. Drinking Hermie's beer and putting their teeth up on his coffee table no doubt.

Someday Flashy will get his chair. And a bit of dime bar cake, washed down with some gassy suds.

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
