EVERY YEAR in Old Taipei, TAITRA and the Taipei Computer Association (TCA) dole out what in their opinion are the best products being shown at the fair.

The products that win the gongs are divided into different categories including PC/Server products, motherboards, multimedia products, software and other categories.

The products have to be available for the global market or has progressed beyond the R&D stage.

alt='dvdplayer'One product certainly of interest in this list is certainly Carry Computer's Portable Multi Media Centre. This doesn't need a PC and combines an eight in one card reader, a DVD dual writer and DVD player that supports DIVX.

alt='tatung'Tatung also won an award for its IP broadband videophone which it claims is not only affordable but enables video meetings over the Internet.

The full list of the other winners can be found on the Computex page, here. µ
