Iran's missile programme boosted by Photoshop
IRAN'S much hyped missile programme is apparently receiving a boost from Photoshop.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard released some snaps of missile test-firings of nine missiles including a Shahab-3 it said was capable of reaching Israel.
Unfortunately not all the missiles got off the ground so the IRG decided it was better to improve the results of the test firing using photo editing software.
The failed missiles were removed from the picture and replaced with one using elements from the smoke trail and dust clouds from two of the other missiles.
Gerard Issert, a technician at Granon, one of the largest photo laboratories in Paris said that although the missiles weren't all equidistant from the camera, they're the same size in the picture.
The state-run Iranian channel Al-Alam claimed Shahab-3 was armed with a one-tonne conventional warhead and had a range of 2,000km.
A former US State Department official said that the only way the Shahab-3 could travel 2,000km carrying a one-tonne warhead was if it was carried the distance by the IRG and lobbed at Israel. OK we have paraphrased a bit, but the Shahab-3 has a range of 1300km which can make 2000km if it has a lighter warhead and the wind behind it. ยต

I guess the market for photo retouching is fairly small in head-to-toe women's garment fashion Iran. There isn't so much of a need to "take in" someone's burqa for "Islamic Women's Monthly" magazine cover.

It's too bad, because even a first-year rookie would know to scale the smoke trails. I mean, if you can make a Hollywood starlet look wholesome, you can easily make impotent missiles look like they are on a Viagra drip.

I don't like the iranian theocracy, but there is a huge lack of balance.
By no means they can destroy Israel.

This was happening one year after a 6 years war - 1 million dead people - against invading iraq, equipped with western money and weapons, french & US as well, Chirac & Rumsfeld were both involved.
In 2001, Bush decided to pretend they were involved in 911 events and then named them into the axis of evil list. The result was infuriating people of Iran and the return of hard line politicians, after years of reformist leadership (without any help from the west at this time either)
And now Mc Cain is singing bomb bomb bomb Iran... it's just gross and disgusting.

The bad guy ratio is definitely very high for the western world.
