Anti-Rockstar campaigner behind school board vote

Bully action

ANTI-GAMING campaigner Jack Thompson has admitted that he was behind a Miami school board's move to get Rockstar's "Bully" game banned before it was even released.

Yesterday we reported how Miami-Dade School Board voted to write to Rockstar, the maker of Grand Theft Auto, expressing its fears that Bully might encourage bullying at the school. The board will also write to games retailers asking for the game to be banned.

Speaking to the INQUIRER, Thompson said that he was behind the board's moves and even drafted the resolution for it.

He said that last year he broke the news that what he believes is a violent follow-up to the Grand Theft Auto game called Bully game was going to be released. He said that the games industry press was not even aware of it.

Getting the backing of Miami-Dade School Board was a bit of a coup for Thompson. It is the fourth largest school board in the US. µ
