Do Gainward Ti4200 cards make screens go pink?

A NUMBER OF THREADS on hardware sites in New Zealand are reporting problems with the Gainward 64Mb 3.6ns DDR GeForce4 Ti4200 graphics card.

According to users, computers sometimes seize up with "bright pink screens", but the problem - if it is connected to the graphics card - appears to occur randomly.

The problem has also been reported on the Mad Onion Gamers HQ forum, as well as on the NZ sites.

Some users suggest that if the problem occurs, and if it can be traced to the cards, it could be connected with cooling on the product.

Gainward, so far, doesn't appear to have come up with an answer to the problem, if indeed it is the card that is causing the "pink screen of death".

You can find the Mad Onion comments here, the NZ Overclockers Forum here, and another set of comments at this thread.

We are attempting to contact Gainward to see if this is a problem, and if so, if there is a solution. µ
