More for less
Thursday, 7 February 2008, 09:47

THE CHIP WING of Toshiba said it has managed to creat 16 gigabit NAND memory using a 43 nanometre process technology, in conjunction with Sandisk.

Shipments have already started, while mass production will start in March, and by Q3 will be shipping 4GB (32Gb) NANDs at its 12-inch fab in Japan.

Toshiba said that the 16Gb chips have an area of 120 square mm, which is 30 per cent smaller than previous iterations of the semiconductors. ยต
