What price an Intel NDA?
Mon Jan 17 2005, 10:27
EVEN THOUGH the Intel Sonoma stuff is under non disclosure agreement (NDA) until the 18th/19th of this month, machines have been out in Japan for a couple of weeks.

And now Taiwanese manufacturer Benq said that it has released three Sonoma notebooks - the Joybook S52, S72 and A82 machines.

Benq said that the Intel Sonomas use 90 nanometre Dothan CPUs, using a 533MHz front side bus (FSB) and XD bit security. There's also a 915 Express integrated graphics chip, triple mode wireless, and high deaf audio includes.

The S52 has a 13-inch screen and surround sound. The S72 has a 14-inch screen, a remote control with laser pointer, and ATI Mobility Radeon X600.

Benq describes the A82 as an "ultra wide" machine, with a 15.4-inch screen, Radeon X600, surround sound, laser pointer remote control, and surround sound.

The machines will go on sale in February. No pictures available, as yet. µ
