Microsoft loses ISO vote on OOXML

Likely by a rather narrow margin
Tuesday, 4 September 2007, 17:02
MICROSOFT HAS LOST its desperate campaign to ram its complex 6,000 page OOXML document formats specification through fast-track approval as an ISO international standard, the Wall Street Journal reports.

An ISO spokesman declined to comment except to say that ISO is preparing an official announcement on the OOXML vote.

The INQUIRER will wait until then to write more on this story. ยต
