Father of Xbox warns of phantoms

KEVIN BACHUS, father of the first Xbox and fresh recoveree from a brief spell as boss at Infinium Labs, hosted a session entitled, "Adventures in Fundraising: Lessons Learned on the Cutting Edge of Capital", here at the Game Developers Conference.

Mr. Bachus burbled his way through some adventures following his departure from Microsoft to explain how he ended up as CEO of Nival Interactive.

And he warned game developers of the perils they should avoid when they talk with venture capitalists and potential publishers.

It seems there are several tricks that many game developers should consider on order to choose the right path. Like the right type of engine licence, corresponding to complexity and targeted audience of the title.

The approach to negotiations needs to be clear and focused, he told the assembled masses,
