Hackers hit back at Al-Jazeera attack

Site downing contravenes US values
Monday, 31 March 2003, 13:19
A REPORT ON Wired said that the hacking community in the US has hit back at denial of service attacks on the Al-Jazeera news site last week.

Last week, as we reported, users were redirected to a site showing an American flag, but Wired said today the hacker community believes it's an amateurish attempt by so-called "script kiddies".

The Al Jazeera English site launched on the Interweb a week today but now appears to have been taken off line.

According to the Wired report, individuals who attacked the Al Jazeera site are breaking the law and censorship is not part of the US way of life. In fact, quoting a member of Hacktivismo, part of the reason for Gulf War III was to fight for freedom. ยต
