Don’t write that, watch this
Friday, 28 September 2007, 14:47

APPLE'S BLACK Friday seems to be taking up, oooh, 99 per cent of tech news headlines today but dig deep in the debris and you’ll see that life goes on, including the nugget that the Slingbox is coming to the BlackBerry.

Sling slung out is exclusive deal with 3, we reported yesterday. Now it's headed for the Blackberry.

TV on pocket devices has had a pretty derisory take-up so far but the combination of the Slingbox and the ubiquitous push-email device could help change matters.

Pocket Lint reports that Sling Media has confirmed its plans, which follow an earlier announcement that the technology is coming to Symbian OS devices.

Meanwhile, Skinkers, the UK-based firm working on a live streaming TV service for PCs called Livestation, showed off its progress at the recent IBC conference for broadcast media. Livestation uses technology donated by Microsoft Research in Cambridge.
