Nvidia NV35 up and running

Grapevine working overtime
Friday, 14 March 2003, 11:22
WE HEARD NVIDIA had NV35 up and running at Cebit. We assume that this was an early sample and we have heard some things that the chip might follow ATI's designs and include a 256bit DDR interface. But it's just too early to say for certain.

Cebit taught us that many Nvidia partners are not satisfied with a lot of things about the NV30 Ultra aka Geforce FX 5800 Ultra. And we also learned that there won't be a lot around, so Nvidia needs a successor to its not so successful NV30 already.

A little bird who had discovered the grape at Cebit whispered to us that production of this chip will start ASAP. Nvidia needs a quick solution to outperform the Radeon 9800 Pro that now has the crown that Radeon 9700 PRO stole from Nvidia last summer.

There are few more whispers that reached our ears but we are going to use the next couple of days to look around and confirm them. Of course none of this is the official Nvidia line or even confirmed by them. They would never do that. Would they? ยต
