No PS3 price-cut this year

Console round-up Wii Speak dated

MICROSOFT IS SUING DHL after a train load of Xbox 360s derailed and destroyed 21,600 consoles. There were no reports of Kaz Hirai fleeing from the scene.

Xbox 360
Microsoft has again denied any Blu-ray support will be coming for the Xbox 360. "As we've said before, Microsoft has no plans to introduce an Xbox 360 Blu-ray add-on," the company told Edge. "Games are what drive consumers to purchase game consoles, and we remain focused on providing the largest library of blockbuster games available." This is despite more recent rumours concerning Xbox 360 Blu-ray support.

John Schappert, Corporate Vice President of Xbox LIVE, Services and Software, announced during his Tokyo Game Show keynote that the new Xbox Experience dashboard will be deployed to Xbox 360's around the world on November 19th.

The 360 continues to score sales in Japan, moving into October. For the first week of this month, the Xbox 360 out-sold the PS3 in its native territory once again.

PS3/PSP
Sony Computer Entertainment president Kaz Hirai has reiterated Sony's commitment to the current Playstation 3 price for this year, insisting that the platform is a "very good value proposition".

Engadget has an unboxing of the new PSP -30 00.

Oddly, the PSP is getting dual shock 3 support - but it looks like you'll need a PS3.

Eurogamer has an early look at the LittleBigPlanet, which it seems to like.

Wii/DS
Nintendo has put a date for the release of Wii Speak in Europe. The microphone and speaker peripheral, along with the Wii Speak channel, will be available from December 5th.

Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City will ship with Wii Speak bundled in, will launch on the same day.

NES carts have never stored so much - this one stores 250GB, using a built-in SATA drive. µ

They Should Lower It

I am a 40GB owner bought it in Feb 08 as I swapped my 3rd 360 towards that 3rd in 2 months but I aint going into that.

I have been rather dissapointed with PS3 this year to be honest MGS4 was boring more talk scenes than action. Mercs 2 was totally rubish even on both consoles, GTA4 was over hyped. I was hoping for Sony to get some RPGs' but they seem to p*** off towards 360 it has a bigger base and this console war thing is just nonsense. How can you have a fair war if 1 was released early and the other a year late it dosn't make sense.

Also Sony's dev kit I think should of been a lot easier but the benifit is PS4 will have a modded improved version so it should be the same and more well known to dev for.

"best value around" ?

Complete nonsense, just like the rest of your "facts". PS3 sales, funnily enough, put it in 3rd place in Europe.

How does being nearly £200 more expensive than your closest rival possibly equate to "best value around?"

Doesn't sound like very good value if you never intend to watch Blu-Ray films, sounds much more like a rip-off artificially inflated price!

PS3, I have one, it wasn't worth it.

PS3 does not need a price cut.

It's already the best value around, by a massive margin. European sales are also outpacing the much cheaper (and much crappier) 360.

Why drop the price?

As for DHL, I suggest they ask Microsoft how many of those Xbox's actually worked on that train, as by past experience, 30% were likely aready faulty...
