Ballmer calls me a fibber

There will be another big Windows
Thu Dec 07 2006, 07:00
IT SEEMS my claim that Microsoft will never make another operating system like Vista has been disputed by Microsoft CEO, the shy and retiring Steve Ballmer.

Ballmer had a quiet word on the matter with Cnet, and he said the next version of Windows might be even bigger.

He confirmed that Microsoft was going to do another version of Windows but has not worked out if the project was going to have the “same number of people, fewer people, (or) whether we need more people” or even people at all.

Ballmer said that Vole was going to have a very large team just working on Windows "innovation".

There are a lot of things that Vole wants to do with Windows, particularly in the area of "hardware enablement".

Vole had not given up on WinFS and other things that were dropped from Longhorn. You can read the murmurings of Ballmer here. ยต
