TechARP, formerly known as Rojak's Pot, reviews the Asus P5NSLI nForce 570 SLI motherboard. Obviously it is SLI compatible, but other than that there are a couple of things like the fact that the PATA connectors run parallel to the board. The pink heatsink might not be to every one's taste and Asus never let anyone down when it came to accessories and features like the Media Shield and the nTune utility. Not exactly what I would call an overclockers board but still a very good deal.
Dansdata reviews the perfect geek stocking filler, the flexiglow multi tool flash drive. It is a USB drive that has been coupled with a Swiss knife. The knife is manufactured in China and has only four tools - and no blades. Flexiglow has managed to throw in a LED powered by two Lithium Coin cell batteries and a ballpoint pen. The knifememory comes in memory sizes ranging from 64MB to 1GB. I'd rather take a USB drive with a separate Swiss knife.
Yet again, the Corsair XMS2 DOMINATOR PC2-8888 Memory is tested, this time at Legitreviews. Corsair has diversified into many areas like cooling and PSUs but memory remains its strongest and core sector. The Lice comb like heatsink/spreaders is the latest feature that separates the Corsair from the rest of the league. That said, I know a few PCs that may have some problems with coolers that tall. For the rest, the modules are very expensive, they are the fastest production memory available at the time of writing. They were able to hit 1.2GHz, up from 1.1GHz at default voltage and with C4 timings.
Hexus reports on the HIS X1900GT IceQ3 Dual DVI VIVO 256MB video card. 256MB memory is now considered to be almost entry level. Hexus tests it against a X1950XTX, a Geforce 7950 GX2 and a pair of 7900GT video cards. Cooling is efficient and silent. The card itself is cheaper than the 7900GT and is quicker in most benchmarks. For once, you don't have to pay that much more for quality and near top of the range performance.
PCstats reviews the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Intel P965 Express Motherboard. It has only one PCI x16 Express port but three PCI x1 ports and three PCI ports. The spec list comprises of many midrange features like SATA2 RAID, HD Audio, GbE and a few more. Overclocks very well when paired with the Core2 Duo. Gigabyte now makes its motherboard with Asus to be able to face the competition from Foxconn; that Gigabyte motherboard is just what the doctor ordered. ยต
