AN OFFICIAL statement from the console maker, Nintendo said that it has managed to flog more than 600,000 consoles in just eight days.

According to Reuters Nintendo's Wii-related revenue had hit $190 million since the machine's November 19 release.

Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime said that his outfit had shipped retailers several times the amount of hardware Sony had delivered for its launch and still sold out.

Sony has not mentioned how many PS3s it has flogged in North America so far, but claims it will have shipped a million units by the end of the year. Units are so scarce however, that the only place to buy them is for around $1000 on eBay.

The Vole says it has sold six million Xbox 360 boxes since November 2005.
