Amazon serves up Windows Vista

ONLINE SHOP Amazon has begun taking orders for Windows Vista in the US.

As Microsoft Canada revealed earlier, the various flavours of the software package will start at $199 (£106) for Vista Home Basic. An upgrade version is expected to be cheaper.

Next up is Windows Vista Premium which is a Media Centre-ish offering. There's a Business version which cost $299 (£157) at Amazon and, lastly, Ultimate Vista, is priced at $399 for the full version or $259 (£136) for an upgrade.

Amazon says the software will be released on January 30th 2007, the 73rd anniversary of of the day Hitler was made Chancellor of Germany. µ
