Taipei and Beijing
Mon Sep 30 2002, 12:36
TAIWANESE SEMICONDUCTOR firm Via said its Technology Forum starts on the 8th of October with support from over 46 vendors.

The forum will initially roll out in Taipei, but on the 16th of October will also be held in Beijing, the company said.

AMD, Maxtor, Micron and Infineon are chief sponsors of the event, but Hynix, Elpida, Crucial and Kentron are also joining in the event, Via said.

Mobo makers include Abit, Albatron, Chaintech, Epox, Gigabyte, MSI and Tyan, while the firm has also pulled in Ericsson, FarEastTone and Skyworks. This is related to Via's entree into the mobile phone market.

But watch out. There too will be Jon "Sheesh" Peddie and Bert "Team DDR" McComas. Other analysts dragging their souls along include folk from Credit Suisse FB, Morgan Stanley and UBS Warburg.
