Gaming tournament becomes beauty contest

THE GAMING market is stuffed with potential and, therefore, money. And the big companies want to grab a piece of that pie whenever they can.

We know a bunch of former Abit people who have taken to gaming and who will organize the Kode5 gaming tournament. They already announced regional finals in China and Taiwan.

Foxconn plans to support both of these and so does the high-end memory manufacturer, Corsair. Interestingly enough, AMD will cough up for the Taiwanese finals only.

Foxconn seems to have gone a step further, however, by sponsoring Kode5's search for glamourous gamers.

Taiwanese contestants wanting to enter the KODE5 Fox Hunt have to post up pictures of themselves on the Kode 5 website before the end of the day.

Visitors to the site will subsequently be invited to vote for their favourite gaggle of babes.

The two teams with the most votes will be invited to Computex and will receive $30,000NTD ($943 US) for first place and 12,000NTD ($377 US) for the second place.

Naturally, the beauty contest is an easy way for females to score as gamers, without having to go to all the bother of sweating over a joystick. µ
