Blizzard announces StarCraft II

En Taro Adun!

AFTER WEEKS OF rumours, Blizzard used an event in Korea to officially unveil its latest development - StarCraft II.

The plot will follow happenings in the first StarCraft and its add-on Brood War, so once again millions of gamers will dig themselves into countless hours of plotting how to advance into the next mission, using well-known races. Terrans, Protoss and Zerg will once again face-off, but this time with new and upgraded units.

After you have exhausted the single-player campaign, you will probably spend hundreds of hours playing on free on-line service, legendary battle.net - company promises a lot of upgrades to the online experience, which should remain free thanks to wads of cash that Blizzard earned on World of WarCraft.

Yep, zerg tactic is back - build as much units as you can and nuke the opponent

As you can see for yourself, Blizzard decided to continue with its policy gameplay above all, since game is graphically spiced-up, but still is scalable enough that owners of slower computers can play the game and have quality experience.

We left the best thing for the last. Traditionally, Blizzard was always announcing titles years before they will come to life. My first touch with World of WarCraft happened on ECTS in 2001, first touch with Diablo II and its add-on came during E3 and ECTS 2000 and so on. But now, StarCraft II is not being announced year or two prior to release. Blizzard has stated that the company will release this game in October of this year.

So, you can mark your calendars ready, Q4 of this year will be quite an interesting one. ยต
