VisionTek claims X850XT availability in December

Er, that's now

MOST ATI partners have already made a noise about X850 and yjr new X800 cards. ATI allows this after it lifted the heavy burden of NDAs from their shoulders and new it's OK to talk about the new cards even though no one can ship them yet.

VisionTek does not think like that as it has told us that it expect to ship X850 cards in early December. VisionTek is ATI's Premium Retail Partner in North America and this claim was confirmed by Rick Bergman's statement. Rick is a senior vice president and the general manager of ATI's PC business.

The actual card will be named the VisionTek XTASY X850 XT PCI-E and it should be available at retailers, e-tailers and qualified distributors now. At least, that's the message VisionTek wants to pass on.

It's interesting to note that VisionTek hasn't mentioned the Platinum edition and that it just wants to launch the second fastest X850XT PCIe card clocked at 520MHz core and with dual DVI ports.

Wr'll keep you posted. µ
