SUPERTALENT HAD TWO new things on display this year at Computex, rubber and plastic coated flash. The rubber was all sorts of shapes and colors, the plastic was a 1.8 inch SATA SSD.
All shapes and sizes
The rubber parts are made-to-order USB flash drives, and SuperTalent would be more than happy to make one for you. Does your business make bread? Well then, a little rubber loaf of flashy goodness is a phone call and a check away. Nothing spectacular, but well done.
Same capacity, smaller package
The other one is a bit more interesting, the µSATA SSD HD. It is basically a 1.8 inch SSD HD that should plug into any notebook that uses the same size drive. It would be a great upgrade for older mini-notebooks saddled with a slow 4200RPM HD.
One interesting thing to note on the µSATA products, SuperTalent is going to market them in 30, 60 and 120GB capacities, not 32, 64 and 128. This is because formatting loses a bit of capacity and they were worried about ignorant [our term] consumers not understanding the problem. I wonder if this is the start of an industry wide trend? µ
Once again theINQ beat Ultie Tom with News, So ok tosh, baby, Tosh. sounds like nice addition to existing library. Also 512 gb SSD will utilize 32 NM technology, So there.
