Newegg started doing it and the rest will follow. It is a simply strategy as it will help AMD sell more CPUs and graphic cards while the end user can benefit from a cheaper price.
This will put Nvidia in trouble - once AMD gets a competitive with R600 in sight. It will especially affect AMD's OEM business. Imagine the price benefits an OEM or system integrator gets when it buys chipset, CPU and a Graphic card all from AMD.
This is the way to compete with Intel and Intel has been able to do this for years. Why not attack it where it hurts the most - right in its beloved platformace business? Centrino and Intel desktop platformance are now facing real competition.
Neither Intel or Nvidia will be put out of the business but it will become harder to dominate the OEM market as AMD finally has all it needs in house. µ
