Office 2003 to go to manufacturing this week

But variety of versions could be recipe for confusion
Mon Aug 11 2003, 15:34
MICROSOFT HAS TWEAKED OFFICE prices over the last 10 days and it may be because it's ready to go to manufacture with Office 2003 this week.

According to SearchWin2000.com, the Office suite, which was almost ready in spring before Microsoft pulled it, will be released to manufacturing during this week.

The wire said that Office 2003, however, might cause some confusion because one version of Word 2003 might not be quite the same as another.

Those differences might depend on which people are using Word - but if this "innovation" is really what Microsoft has in store for us, confusion might not be the right word to describe it.

The same report reckons that Outlook will come in two versions - one "professional" and one "standard", or perhaps "amateur" is a better word.

There's no details of pricing in the report, which you can find here. µ
