Kingston crowned king of DRAM makers

KINGSTON TECHNOLOGY has been ranked top by chip counters at Isuppli, who reckon it haulks in the most revenue of all DRAM suppliers.

Isupply estimates Kingston's total DRAM module sales exceeded $2.2 billion in 2006, nearly $800 million more than in 2005. This means it boosted its mmarket share by over 18 per cent in 2006.

The Isuppli report encompassed DRAM module revenues only and did not include OEM contract manufacturing or Flash memory sales.

According to the researchers Kinsgton ranked above Smart Modular,Ramaxel, A-Data, TwinMOS in the top five. Crucail rated sixth with PQi and Corsair next in Isupply's top ten. µ
