Foxconn arrives on VGA market

Journalist-suing manufacturer intros cards for Nvidians
Thursday, 7 September 2006, 14:11
AFTER QUITE SOME time, Foxconn finally decided to introduce itself to the graphics card market as a stand-alone brand. The OEM maker of many green cards that are packed as different brands you hear today decided to add retail business to boot - and its present customers certainly aren't happy about it.

The line-up is pretty much everything Foxconn is producing right now, from the highest of all ends 7950GX2 to a lowly 64-bit 7100GS. The pricing is expected to be highly competitive - they go in line with recent price drops of all graphics cards, which enable all of you readers to buy as much 3D power as possible for smaller amounts of money.

After seeing dual card packages breaching $1000 barrier, it's good to see that now you can buy QuadSLI for the same amount. Judging from Foxconn's press release, most accents will be placed upon 7950GT in high-end segment, 7900GS in performance mainstream and entry-level 7300GT with 512MB of DDR-II memory.

However, we hope that in case something ends up wrong with the products, Foxconn won't send its legal sharks to the poor reviewer's door, whoever that might be. If you do not live in specific countries in East Asia, chances are they won't. ยต
