JBoss goes completely corporate

Four of the top five committers kicked out of project
Tue Aug 05 2003, 21:21
IT WOULD APPEARthe JBoss Group has finally taken off its gloves and come clean, shedding all remaining vestiges that they are an Open Source project.

It seems since JBoss launched their press release over at EWeek, they have removed CVS commit privileges from four of the top five committers of all time, who are, in no particular order:

  • Jason Dillon
  • David Jencks
  • Hiram Chirino
  • Jules Gosnell

But don't worry--the kids are alright. We imagine their new project, Apache Geronimo, should keep them pleasantly occupied for a while. Since this project was agreed to three weeks ago, it's reportedly been nothing but a FUD war on the internal Apache lists, with various JBoss employees threatening lawsuits over the use of their trademark, which we're told has been diligently scrubbed from the new codebase. ยต
