Where the YouTube URL winds up is a bit flaky, as with all banned sites in Thailand.
The biggest ADSL provider, True Corp, still redirects YouTube to this full-screen monstrosity, known locally as the Green Screen of Dearth:
http://w3.mict.go.th/ci/blocked.html
The second major high-speed provider, TOT Pcl, a state enterprise, redirects to this, also at the ICT ministry:
http://ict.cyberclean.org/images/logo.gif
There are nearly 20 ISPs in Thailand. Individual ISPs are allowed to redirect as they wish, so long as they redirect.
The above info is current as of 1855 Monday Thailand time.

Subject: Vole sued over mouse - plaintiff's reply
Hi,
I am Lo, the plaintiff in the ergo mouse law suit against Microsoft.
Thank you for taking an interest in my case, but its merit cannot be judged by simply comparing a front view of my mouse with a top view of the Microsoft mouse. That's comparing apples to oranges. A better understanding can be achieved by comparing Fig. 7 in my patent to the side view of the hand position on the Microsoft web site.
Go to this Microsoft page:
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/productdetails.aspx?pid=0 86
Click Take a Tour, and click Revolutionary Ergonomic Design to see the hand on the mouse and the "handshake position" description under the illustration. Compare this to my Fig. 7.
Long story short: I presented my invention to Microsoft and others in 1994 but they all rejected it.
In 2001, I exhibited my invention at Comdex in Las Vegas and coined the term "handshake position" to describe it. Due to the great public response, I started my company, Evoluent, with my own money to manufacture the product. The first Evoluent VerticalMouse was released in 2002, the VerticalMouse 2 in 2004, and the VerticalMouse 3 in 2007. According to hundreds of user comments, my product is very effective in relieving wrist pain.
In late 2006, Microsoft introduced the Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. They also use the "handshake position" description that I coined in 2001 and have been using ever since.
See the Evoluent Story on my web site www.evoluent.com

Subject: Solar panels
Solar panels look like a good idea but only if a only few people use them. If every one did it would be a disaster. A system typically gets a $10k subsidy from the government. If every one had a solar system, every one would have to pay $10k more in taxes. That would make solar electric more expensive than corporate energy. If every one used solar, corporate providers would go out of business. Two implications: 1) You would have to buy your own (environmentally unfriendly) storage system, and 2) You could no longer sell excess power to the grid. Your power cost is now double the corporate rate. And a lot less convenient. Plus, solar systems can only be created by consuming huge amounts of carbon based energy. If every one installed a solar system the air would be a lot more polluted for the next decade or two. Then we start building replacement systems for the ones that have expired.

Subject: Our Solar June wasn't bursting out all over
Mike, You didn't mention when the system will have paid for itself in dollar terms (a changing projection as more historical data is known). Just curious, as the benefits to the environment are just as real but may be harder to calculate.
I imagine English weather can be a bit "Harrowing" at times for your project, but it could be worse: you might have put your U.S. facilities in the tornado alley/Noah's Ark zone we call the Midwest. As far as I know, Charlie (who is up in the froze toes land of 10,000 lakes and one fish) is as close as you got.

Anyway, at the WD07 (not this past one, the one where they announced the iPhone), Jobs, who DID do a brilliant job (OSX really does rock) with the iPhone said something about stylus=yuck. Anyway, at the apple store they use EZ-Pay, which of course uses a stylus and runs, ready? Windows! Go to the local mac store, ask them if they use ez pay, its a portable device that can swipe a Credit/Debit card....anyway, saw one freeze up (of course, LOL) and was told it runs on windows.....
Just sort of Ironic.
Thanks!

Subject: Xbox 360 Fails to work
I have both seen this with my friends xbox 360 and my origanal xbox ... Fail - The question is thou...
Why do all things microsoft fail - The xbox 360 fails alot - if u look on you tube and type in red lights of death - u will get crazy results.. one guy in taiwan even made a 3 part series out of his xbox failing lol. My first xbox (Not 360) Could read discs, I exchanged it for another one - and it died in 4 months. My friend Bought a xbox 360 due to the price and game library - but then his xbox 360 starting acting wierd when he would play graw or guitar hero and then one day it just clunked out. Windows and xbox 360 both have major issues - while mac and sony can pump out reliable hardware - Why is it that microsoft always has problems and I dont mean little problems.. I mean Big problems.. Why do they have so many issues with things. Is it legal to release a product that fails that much. The 360 has the high failure rate. It must be upsetting to the 360 fans who are playing a game and then there 360 dies like a deer getting hit by a transport truck - only to find that those red lights mean that they have to return there xbox to get it fixed - Its not a car ... Its a game console... I can understand if the odd one broke and u had to return it once.. but lots of people have to return theres - its robbery I tell u .. robbery - I prefer nintendo or sony for gaming and apple for computing..
anyway.. just thought I would add my 2 pennys

Subject: Why do people continually go back?
Hi,
Stories like these:
"Fan returns his Xbox 360 12 times" http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=40658
"I thought I was bad, I'm on my seventh Xbox360" http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=40679
..Are a clear indication that people in general, are not getting life's little hints!
"Fool me once Shame on you. Fool me twice Shame on me."
How about we extend that? => Fool me more than 5 times? I'm an idiot that keeps coming back for more!
What happened to that generation that never took any crap from anyone? Did they not pass their genes onto the next generation?
Seriously, if a product fails such that you have to take it back more than once, its an obvious indicator that you shouldn't waste anymore time on it. Dump it like a cheap suit. Ask for a refund. (I'm sure there are consumer protection laws in various countries that provide for this scenario).
Regards.

Subject: Reality Check
E-waste "is the fastest-growing type of rubbish in the European Union". Yeah, well maybe that is because hamburger wrappers are already at the saturation point ? I just love it when the media picks up some PR spiel made to justify a monthly salary and runs with it without even blinking. Granted, hamburger wrappers contain less noxious metals than electronic components, but still, reporting this as a fast-growing problem is not justified per se. On the other hand, the continuous push for full replacements and having conceived units to specifically not be repairable (or even maintainable, eh iPod ?) does not help the global picture at all.

Subject: MS Eases Vista to XP
I could care less. I'm a systems builder and I am trying to focus customers on Linux. Ubuntu has all that is necessary to do what the vast majority of consumers want to do with their computers.
In the case of those customers wanting to go from Vista to XP I try to ensure that they purchase XP instead of Vista to begin with.
Nothing Microsoft would do at any event would convince me that Vista is the future. Vista is a spyware & DRM infested bloatware pig with lipstick. I do not encourage anyone to subject themselves to the spyware and the DRM for any reason. I educate my customers on what their spyware does and what their DRM does.
When the customer is informed they make an informed choice. Most want to end their relationship with Microsoft in all ways.
