E650 owners claim major bug

Orange suggests calling the manufacturer
Tuesday, 8 May 2007, 14:53
A BLOG dedicated to HTC based smartphones, Modaco.com, is being bombarded with complaints about the latest SPV from Orange - the E650.

According to one complainer, it's impossible to get new applications to load onto this Windows based smartphone. He tried calling Orange for help but the company's call centre advised him to contact the phone's manufacturer.

Considering the complainer apparently has only owned the phone for a few days, he appears blissfully unaware that he can simply return it as unfit for purpose.

The intriguing thing is that the blog is read by those who have decided to acquire the HTC own branded version - the S710 which is almost identical to the E650 - instead.

Curiously enough, those with S710 don't appear to be suffering from the same ailment. So it must have something to do with Orange's own software.

The INQ was very tickled to discover that there's a mobile phone version of CTRL-ALT-DEL, which apparently involves holding down the two 'soft keys'.

One wonders if the screen goes blue when the phone crashes? Nice to know if The Beast is consistent across all platforms. Tee-he. ยต
