This led us to sniff around and we spoke with a few industry sources and learned that, for the second time, Nvidia paper launched a 7300-based card.
The company that so much insists on availability at launch date should not play this dangerous game. We learned that some of its partners might have some cards next week but it will be the end of the week before you actually see and buy one of those cards in etail/retail. The card was announced on Monday.
* Nvidia's PR chap contacted us and said that "NVIDIA began shipping the GeForce 7300 GT card in the Asia Pacific region only." This was not the impression that we received from Nvidia's partners, however. We know that some partners were not too happy with 7300 GS as the market hasn't picked them up too well. Maybe the 7300 GT, which is actually just a declocked 7600 GS card, can make a difference. This is the first time that an eight-pipeline card has delved into the low-end, entry-level, around $/100 market and will sure make many happy faces. Once it's available, that is.
We wrote here about the official announcement. µ
