The Inquirer, a British web site that is ground zero for computer industry gossip - Austin American Statesman
I was wondering if I can get this article posted on The Inquirer.
I'm very frustrated with Dell Service and Technical Support. I've purchased a Dell XPS Inspiron M170 with the upgraded DVD-RW Burner and received it on April 13.
I installed EA Games Battlefield 2 and also EA Games Need for Speed Most Wanted and neither of them work. The games were able to install just fine but when launching it the EA Logo would come up and that's all that would happen. The games never launch. I add a USB CD-ROM and insert the Play Disc in them and the games runs fine.
I talked to Dell Hardware Support and explained the issues I was having. They were unable to assist me with my problems. All I wanted is a replacement for Toshiba Samsung DVD-RW Burner with a NEC DVD-RW Burner or at least a firmware upgrade on the Toshiba Samsung that came with my notebook. T
hey were unable to provide me with those requests. I found a forum with people experiencing the same issue with this particular Toshiba Samsung DVD-RW Burner. Here's the link.
I just want to inform other people of the way Dell treats there customers. If anyone is in the market for buying a Dell XPS Gaming Laptop beware of the DVD-RW Burner that it comes with. If possible try to order it with the NEC DVD-RW Burner. Otherwise you cannot game on Dell's Gaming Laptops.
Sincerely,

Subject: Dual-core Turion delayed, say notebook makers
BULLSHIT !!
As my personal PIMPS, you are supposed to tell your anal-sucking fanboyz that AMD's Dual Turion is ON SCHEDULE - it's just a "new" schedule - like all our other "new schedules".
We never slip - we're AMD - perfect in every way.

Hi Paul Hales,
I'm Biswas Raj, the Content writer of MicroWorld Technologies. I sincerely thank your kindness for reading our press release on WOW' Trojan and subsequently publishing it in your esteemed magazine.
The article that you have published starts with the line Insecurity Firm',which I believe is a typo. I would humbly request you to change this to Security firm'.
I will be honored to send hot topics and breaking news directly to you in the future, from our virus lab, if you could provide me your email id.
Thanking your kindness once again,
Warm regards,
Biswas.

I really have to laugh. Think about what tits are for, and then explain to me how the sight of them is harmful to children.

Subject: Microsoft piracy pop-up is persistent
Ref article number 31276 about the piracy pop-up. My girlfriend bought a computer from eBay with Microsoft Windows XP Professional... turns out it's not a valid copy, she called me saying "Help!! I can't log on!!" ... I told her that it was part of Microsoft's Genuine Advantage 'crackdown' program and she hung up on me. I called her back and asked her what it was saying, sure enough it was giving her that error message. It stops her from logging on to the machine and only gives her purchasing options.
I feel sorry for her, but I can't blame Microsoft for doing it either.
I wouldn't know, but I guess you won't be able to get any security updates or patches without this update?

Luton
Actually, I always believe everything I read in the Inq, except the bits I don't.
I don't believe anyone actually exists on the streets of Luton, for example.
I hope this makes it clear.
