BRITISH HANDSET FIRM Sendo, which is part owned by the Great Vole of Software, will not be able to deliver its Stinger based SmartPhone until the middle of this year.

According to Business Week, the Sendo Z100 handset is suffering from software glitches that will delay it until the middle of this year, at the earliest.

Executives at the company had hoped to launch the Z100 last year, but told the INQUIRER towards the end of last year that it would likely be quarter one of this year before the phone was out.

But the reason for the delay, Sendo then said, was that it wanted to ensure that the GPRS platform was both reliable and stable.

The problem appears now to be of a different nature, related to Microsoft's Smartphone 2, and will disappoint users impressed by the spec of the $500 unit.

The company was unavailable for comment at press time. µ
