APPLE USER Dan Deeble used his fruit themed toy Iphone to propose to his girlfriend and for some reason she said yes.
According to the Sacramento Bee, Deeble used Scribular, which works with the handset's GPS to tag specific locations with notes.
His cunning plan involved buying an Iphone for his bird, Crystal Gardner, loading it with Scribular before taking her on a virtual scavenger hunt with his proposal being the first prize.
During the day he used his Jesus phone to send her lots of love notes through other people. Finally, the two met at Delta King Restaurant at 7 pm she got a note which said: "Almost one year ago, I found you – and I found love. I ask if you will grant me the greatest privilege of my life and marry me. Forever yours, Dan."
She emailed him back saying "Of course I will".
Like many things that involve Apples there is nothing original which has not been done a million times under a less impressive looking wrapper. Deeble, 35, nicked the idea from the tacky romantic flick PS I Love You, which was the first movie he and Gardner watched together. Just as well they didn't see Debbie Does Dallas, although it would have made a more interesting story.
Wired thought it was all cute, we would have been more impressed if the bloke was brave enough to actually be up-front and not have to play games to avoid the embarrassment of popping the question. If he had been a Linux user he would have got the servers in her work network to churp out his love. If he was a Vista user he could have got all the desktops in her work to blue screen to the tune of Whitney Houston's Greatest Love of All. But she married an Apple fanboy, so she has to waste her day playing cheap games that are just a front for a controlling personality type who is too scared to be honest with the end user. µ
