Last chance to win Quest software

Veitchy's Irregular Compo Send us an ode to win Toad code
Friday, 27 April 2007, 11:18
REGULAR READERS and some irregular ones too, will recall that at the beginning of last month we posted a mad, mad, mad March competition to give away three copies each of Quest Software's Toad for Oracle Xpert Edition and LiteSpeed for SQL Server,

To quote, some say cut and paste, from back then: "… and one of them can be yours if you enter this super, soaraway competition."

As you doubtless know, or would know if you were reading the description here, Toad for Oracle Xpert Edition (UK list price £1660.28) is a database development and administration tool that increases user productivity and application code quality while providing an interactive community to support the user experience.

And of course you realise that LiteSpeed for SQL Server (UK list price £908) is backup and recovery software that provides integrated compression and encryption in the backup process that enables organisations to reduce storage costs and SQL backup and recovery windows while maintaining complete control over the backup and recovery process.

To lay hands on loot all we ask is that you provide a short poem or limerick as to why you should be a winner. Laments about life on the developer/helpdesk/admin beat are very welcome. Random defamatory statements about management and users could be eligible for extra points. The five best will gain the software and the worst one will also gain a prize. "Just for sitting there," as Brucie used to say.

Well, now we're getting round to giving away these fine software packages and, quite frankly, anything half-decent will have an outstanding chance judging by the drivel and doggerel sent so far. So get your entries in by next Friday when we'll announce the winners. µ
