London buses blighted by MP3 generation

Tinny tunes irk commuters
Monday, 30 October 2006, 15:28
AS MANY UK INQ readers will be all too aware, the behooded yoof of the nation have taken to blaring tinny garage and commerical rap music from their mp3-enabled mobile phones.

Sick and tired of hearing 50 Cent's latest slurred snoozefest on their journeys back from work, a group of two has taken to the web in the hope of gaining support for a ban on loud music on London buses.

A petition for the ban has been set up on the campaign website. "After one too many times of being forced to listen to someone else's music whilst travelling to work we decided to contact London Buses to see if anything could be done about it," the site says.

The response was to stick up posters at bus stops, asking in a typically British fashion, if the tracksuited bus-dwellers could "please keep the noise down".

The campaign has managed to gain some support, notably from London Transport Committee deputy Roger Evans.

If you're a UK commuter fed up with atrocious music making your journeys to and from work even worse, then you might be interested in heading on over to the website, where you can download flyers for printing, sign the petition and make loud your support. ยต
