Witchfinder bugged directors, claim

LEAKS alleged to be from HP board member George Keyworth mean he won't be nominated for re-election, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Keyworth was fingered by Witchfinder General Patricia Dunn when Carly Fiorina left the HP stage following leaks of discussion at board level. But the accusation he was Mole in Chief caused VC board member Tom Perkins to slam his briefcase on the table and tell HP to bog off.

alt='hop'Now the SEC has instituted an investigation into the affair, prompted by Perkins disclosure. The Witchfinder General prompted the board to ask Keyworth to resign, but he refused, saying he was accountable to shareholders, not the board.

For what it's worth, Mr Keyworth was not our Mole in Chief, we had dozens of them running through the HP tunnels.

* NEWSWEEK reckons that the Witchfinder General spied on the home phone records of its directors to find the leaker. here.
