PETER JUDGE over at ZD Net has run an interesting storyette and claims Microsoft is behind the attempt.

The wire ran a poll to gauge how popular Java was compared to .net but according to ZD, there is firm evidence that Microsoft has engaged in jiggery pokery and attempted to change the vote by multiple votes and getting employees to join in.

According to the story, a large number of votes originated from Microsoft and emailed employees to vote for .net rather than Java.

Other techniques used to alter the results appeared to use automated scripted voting, multiple voting and someone from Microsoft even tried to vote 228 times.
