Wikipedia cleared of defamation

French kiss-off
Fri Nov 02 2007, 16:47

THREE FRENCH BLOKES have lost their claim for damages against wikipedia after it labelled them gay activists.

A judge decided there was no case to answer as French law limits the Wikipedia Foundation's liability in this instance, and the comment had been taken down anyhow.

Judge Emmanuel Binoche did not get as far as deciding whether the comments were defamatory or not before dismissing the claim for damages.

And sweaty-palmed Wiki know-it-alls everywhere breathed a sigh of relief.

More here. µ

WIKIPEDIA bad for Humankind

WIKIPEDIA and all its constituent satellites should be totally banned from major research institutions throughout the world for it provides the means for distortions and untruths to be put in print across the whole globe.

This cannot be good for humankind as if people start to believe every word that appears in Wikipedia, they will get things wrong, very wrong indeed.
It is as simple as that, but the consequences could be huge for economies and people.

If you wish to read more I suggest that you get a full insight into Wikipedia and visit http://www.thewif.org.uk/version2/nlett/class/main0.html
and go to the bottom of the page.

Wikipedia is run in reality by a bunch of overgrown kids who do not care about those who really count, the people themselves.

my

Yes. Wikipedia is nice and I found a lot of useful information. It's like open source, the work of hundreds and thousands of people out there..that's why it's so good.
I like the inquirer too so I will forgive you for bashing wikipedia now and then

Use full and awesome but I just hate it

I love using wikipedia, I spend hours just looking up random stuff and what not. Hell, its my Home page. Its just, I hate it. I hate how nearly every thing on the site is opinion and not fact. Any one know a site with all the information and accessibility of wikipedia yet not full of crap?

what now?

I know yous guys got a thing against wikipedia, calling it whakipedia and generally disparaging the content and management of the site.

I, however, find the site useful. Many Wiki's on wikipedia are worth their virtual space and you'd do good to recognize this fact before I whack ya.

So, don't be so slanted.
Your bent with wikipedia is gettin irritating. If you want to chastise those folks then GET SOME DAMN NEWS.

As always, I give a fortune with every comment, because I like chinese food:

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
