WE TOLD YOU about Zalman and its 3D monitors almost a year ago, and now they are finally going on sale. The monitors, called Trimon, are available in 19- and 22-inch formats.
Both work the same way, with circular polarization and strangely stylish glasses used to make the picture look 3D. There isn't much technically new here, just that Zalman, like a few others, is actually doing it and selling products.
There is one rub, and that is with the selling part. The monitors depend on the mostly broken and always flaky Nvidia 3D drivers. This handicap means they have a pretty large list of caveats, so read it carefully before you buy. That said, initially, they are only going to sell it to specialty markets, meaning bundled with a system for a purpose.
This may sound dismaying, but between this, IZ3D and a bunch of others, the whole 'real 3D' monitor concept is inching closer to reality. The Zalman twins just push things closer to mainstream, and that is a good thing. µ

[Windows Vista User]
The stereoscopic driver that supports 3D games for Windows Vista and up to nVIDIA’s 8000 series is expected to be released in January of 2008.
(ATI and other graphics cards will not support 3D games)

2. For watching videos in 3D

All graphics card support watching videos in 3D.
From the 160/160 vertical viewing angle it's just another 22" with a 6bit TN Panel. Nothing to get excited over at all.
Uh, the real question is will a 10 inch wang swinging by some stupid ho's face in 3D be more or less arousing? I say now we need to study this. Will I flinch when I see Peter North ejaculate? Will it be that real? These are the questions I have for ye peddlers of strange technologies.
