Mod My Machine show off at CeBIT

CeBIT 007 Flames and LEDs
Monday, 26 March 2007, 09:55
AT THE HIPER stand during CeBIT, you could find some of the guys from ModMyMachine, basically Pimp My Ride for PCs. They had two projects on display at the show.

The project is basically a fun diversion for some of the people from Aqua Computer, they did some really nice work.

The first one was the flame based computer. It is a high end gaming rig, watercooled of course, with rather large metal flames in red and yellow protruding from the top and bottom. It has a side mounted slot loading DVD in the front panel, and everything is remote controlled.

The odd part that you may notice is the big black base. That houses the fog machine. What good is a flame themed PC that won't belch smoke on command? Add in the remote control, liberally placed 'do not touch' signs, and you can have a lot of fun.

Changing themes entirely, you get the LED computer. This is a little more conventional, but conventional is a real stretch here. It has a 600 individually programmable multi-color LEDs in front, a motorized flip out monitor on the side, and a mirrored top.

It does not have a remote control, but the mirrored top has touch sensors for all the controls. This one also lacks a fog machine, but it makes up for that in brightness and a cool crackle finished paint job.

You can see the videos behind it on the ModMyMachine site. Be warned, the videos are not professionally done, just modders having fun. The results are quite professional though, very high quality. ยต
