AMD owns up to 5000+, FX62 mistake

Quill pen slipped
Wednesday, 31 May 2006, 11:54
CHIP FIRM AMD said that a "clerical error" led it to mistakenly label the 5000+ and the FX 62 as capable of supporting socket 939 as well as the new socket thing.

Heck, we hadn't realised that clerks still existed at AMD. Do they have to stand up at their desks and use a quill pen in dim light?

Be that as it undoubtedly is, AMD apologised for the error and said the clerical error and a combination of public holidays led it to take longer to fix it than normally.

Just as well Fudo took a screen shot, but something of a shame that it doesn't support Socket 939 too. µ
