More on that Barton 2500+ chip

OUR READERS have come to the rescue and helped us to translate the www.oc.ocm.tw article on the Barton 2500+ chip and pictures on that site.

Edward A. Brinker said: "I have an advantage in reading the www.oc.com.tw site in that I have a Chinese wife who is fluent in written and spoken Chinese and English.

"The chip is definitely a Barton clocked at 1833 Mhz (166x11.0). 1.65 V core and 90 deg. C core. which can be gotten from the chip number. It is a week 43 Barton which is surprising (at least to me). The site expects 200 MHz Bartons to be along later. The L12 bridges control the bus speed. They raised the FSB to 200 Mhz and were successful at 2000 Mhz(200x10) but were unable to get into Windows at 2200 Mhz (200x11). All of the overclocking was air cooled with a maximum core voltage of 1.9 V. They were reluctant to exceed those values because they didn't have another chip."

And Nick Arvanitis sends us a little table which gives the MHz speed of the different Bartons along with the multipliers for the same.

Which, he says, show that the 2600+ at 2083MHz has a multiplier of 12.5, the 2700+ runs at 2167MHz and has a multiplier of 13, the 2800+ runs at 2250MHz and has a multiplier of 13.5, and the 3000+ runs at 2333MHz and has a multiplier of 14.

That's not, however, what this complete translation at Flickerdown says... ยต
