Sharp sues Samsung over LCD patents

Three patents in place
Wednesday, 12 December 2007, 10:43

SAMSUNG RECEIVED a writ from Sharp in a Seoul district court.

Sharp claims that LCD modules and TVs made by Samsung infringe three patents it has in South Korea.

The South Korean patent numbers are 371,939; 740,570 and 776,998. Sharp alleges these patents cover high brightness and high speed and wide viewing angles.

There's already patent infringement law suits pending in the US, filed in early August of this year. ยต

So what?! I have the patent for really, really good picture...

...all will kneel!

They patented wide viewing angle?

Why stop there?

Patent high resolution, low power consumption, etc.

Nono

Obviously they patented technology that makes it possible to increase viewing angle Nick s, not the concept of wide viewing angles itself.
You can tell because it isn't in america where they would allow almost any insane patent.
