SOFTWARE FIRM SuSE Linux has responded to a letter we published on the site first thing this morning.

See SuSE Linux wastes too much time writing press releases

Jasmin Ul-Haque, director of comms at SuSE Linux, writes to the gent in question as follows.

Dear Sir,

Ref: your letter dated Friday 24th October 2003 URL: http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=12308

We are concerned to hear that you have been unable to obtain a trial version of the SuSE Linux Openexchange Server and would appreciate if you could advise which sales office you contacted. It is our policy to assist customers in testing our business products and we try and make evaluation copies available for several of our business products.

The SuSE Linux Openexchange Server can be tested either by evaluating the online demo (please see URL: here) or by using the fully installable software CD set which can be purchased currently from the UK online store, priced at £34.00.

Other SUSE LINUX online stores will shortly offer the upcoming version of Openexchange Server 4.1 which is expected to ship around November 17th. We regret if this has not been communicated clearly on our website and will ensure that this is updated appropriately.

SUSE LINUX is always open to suggestions for improvement in our customer services. We look forward to your direct feedback and you can be assured of a direct response.

Yours sincerely
Jasmin Ul-Haque
