THERE ARE THREE new additions to The Linux Foundation reports Physorg.com, which are expected to open up exciting new Linux opportunities.

The three new members, Marvell, Nokia and VirtualLogix, make a total of 86 Linux Foundation devotees, all of whom are Linux-crazy and want to spread the platform like butter on the crumbly, burnt toast that is the IT industry.

With its membership, Marvell is hoping to focus on the standardisation of mobile and embedded Linux, and its general adoption on all sorts of devices. VirtualLogix is looking to chuck Linux and all that comes with it into its mobile handset and network applications, while Nokia simply fancies working on Linux-based technologies, including its Internet Tablet.

Executive director at the Linux Foundation Jim Zemlin is very much looking forward to "rolling up" his sleeves with the new members over the next few months. The first meeting together will roll along this June. µ
